A Network of groups in the North West area are facilitating the visit to Ireland of German geoscientist Helmut Kehr – scientific advisor to a member of the German parliament in Dusseldorf.
The title of his presentation is “How public opinion and the media have turned against Hydraulic Fracturing in Germany” which can be seen at The
Rainbow, Ballroom of Romance, Glenfarne, Monday 2nd April, 7.30pm
On Helmut Kehr’s last visit to Ireland, he presented to a packed to capacity venue in Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, and put the promise of job creation by the fracking companies into perspective by saying, “jobs are highly specialised, and even in a country like Germany, they tended to go to outsiders, people not from the area”.
In his area of Germany the extent of legitimate public opposition to fracking was so high, that the goverment put a moratorium in place.
The presentation is open to members of the public, and all are welcome
