Where we live
County Leitrim lies in the north of Ireland. The main town is Carrick-on-Shannon. Slightly north, Leitrim village marks one end of the Shannon–Erne Waterway, which crosses the entire county. Drumshanbo, where the volunteer house is situated, is a rural town, very typical of the Irish country. The office, where the volunteers work, is in Ballinaglera. Leitrim offers a lot of opportunities for outdoors activities, recreation, entertainment and shopping. For more information visit the Leitrim tourism website.
What we do
Our volunteers have the opportunity to engage to various social activities like shared dinners, drinks and pub nights, films, board games, puzzles and much more!
Ireland and Leitrim offer a lot of opportunities for sports and recreation. Canoe and kayak in Leitrim lakes, surfing in the Atlantic coast, hiking at the beautiful Irish hills and mountains, running and cycling in the Irish countryside.
Irish set dancing lessons, participation in a samba band, traditional Irish music sessions-to name but a few of the music experiences that our volunteers have in Leitrim!
Our volunteers have the opportunity to travel around the country and beyond!
