One of the first things that comes to my mind when I think about Ireland is the untamed Nature and the kind people, the first time that I experienced living in this beautiful country was eight years ago when I worked as a waitress in a lovely cafe in front of the ocean in Dun Laoghaire, after that I promised myself: “I will return here”.

I grew up in a small town near Padova, called Montegrotto Terme, in the North East of Italy, one of the things that I love the most about my hometown are the Colli Euganei, a group of hill reliefs of volcanic origin where I used to go with my grandpa for long hikes.

Hiking called Pianoro del Mottolone, known as the balcony overlooking the Euganean Hills

My deep love for Cinema led me to get a Bachelor’s degree in Art, Music and Performance Disciplines at the University of Padova, which was founded in 1222 and is among the oldest universities in the world.
Later I understood that the right path for me should combine creativity with the digital world, so in 2024 I graduated in 3D Art for Videogames.
After that I started an Intership as a graphic and tecnical designer for custom forniture in a small company, but inside me the desire of experience new realities and to broaden my horizons began to take hold.

And here comes Geai: I wanted to develop my skills in research, graphic design and social media, and to deepen my knowledge on causes that are very important to me, such as climate activism, biodiversity, and sustainable energy. All of this, combined with the opportunity to travel and create meaningful connections with people who share my values, felt like the perfect opportunity for me at that moment in my life.

My journey started early in the morning, when I flew form Venice to Dublin, there I waited many hours for the bus that brought me to Carrick on Shannon, I was very excited to learn about the new life that was waiting for me in Drumshambo.
When I arrived at my new house it was already dark outside, I felt very tired and a little battered form the long travel, but my new lovely roomates welcomed me in the warmest and sweetest way possible, the first night I still felt a bit nervous and agitated nonetheless, because I need my time to get used to new places.

In this first week a lot has already happened, my roomates and I went on a beautiful roadtrip in the north-west coast, during which I was able to experience the wild beauty of this country once again, and I also had the pleasure to connect with the vibrant local artistic community.

Now I can say that I sleep really well at night, the house started to feel like home and my roomates started to feel like family.
I still can’t believe I ended up in a place with so much beauty and kindness, sometimes that makes me feel overwhelmed with joy and I’ll be forever grateful for experiencing this new chapter of my life.
I’m looking forward to discover all that my life here has in store for me.
