Village Energy Audits are community-based studies that explore how energy is used across a town or village — from homes and heating to transport and daily activities. By gathering real local data, they create a clear picture of energy consumption, costs, and emissions.
Through surveys and direct engagement with households, these audits highlight where energy is being spent, where it is being wasted, and where practical improvements can be made. For example, past audits revealed not only high household energy costs, but also the significant impact of transport and reliance on fossil fuels in rural areas.
More than just research, Village Energy Audits empower communities with knowledge — providing the foundation for smarter decisions, lower costs, and a transition towards cleaner, more sustainable energy use.
