Over the past few weeks, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Gustavo, a young volunteer from Brazil, who joined us through an international school exchange programme.
Gustavo took part in our office’s activities on Mondays, working alongside the ESC volunteer team and acquiring new practical skills that will be useful for his personal and professional future.
His presence provided an important opportunity for mutual growth: not only a learning experience for him, but also a chance for all of us to gain a deeper understanding of Brazilian culture and engage with new ideas and perspectives.
“The presence of young people from other countries is always an asset to our organisation,” said Aedin McLoughlin, director of GEAI. “Every international exchange experience allows us to build bridges between different cultures and to offer young people concrete opportunities for personal and professional growth.”
His presence has indeed given us the opportunity to share different cultures and views, confirming just how important it is to invest in mobility and international cooperation programmes.
